West Coast Fishing Club Website design

A beautiful and complex website design for West Coast Fishing Club pushed the boundaries of design with five sites in one. This complex information architecture required several custom website templates to be designed to accommodate five separate lodges as well as corporate and charity news and events. The site focuses heavily on beautiful photography but also required a balance in layout to manage fairly heavy content requirements for guests and travelers to the resorts.

The Custom website was built in Kelowna at Spincaster’s head office and required many hours of custom programming, website designs, information architecture, planning and search engine optimization before its completion. The website design went through several renditions first starting with a membership and club feel but eventually moving back to a more classic corporate format for the final design.

The project was not without its road bumps as a branding consultant was brought in part way through to unify the brand. Unfortunately their technical knowledge of the internet was limiting, but with patience the guidelines where incorporated into the web site design successfully. On the programming front the complex website initially started with a Drupal 6 install but again constraints appeared as Drupal could not easily accommodate the five in one format. After serious deliberation Spincaster decided to scrap the framework and build a custom website CMS solution to ensure that the backend interface and management of content on the site was easy and intuitive. After a long haul with many late nights our excellent team of developers, designers and custom software programmers came through.

The site is truly beautiful and informative and based on custom software that is scalable and a pleasure to use. Click here to view the West Coast Fishing Club’s new website.
